Privacy Policy for DropKind

DropKind ("we", "us") is a web app that lets you send text you provide to your Kindle using Amazon's Send-to-Kindle email delivery.

What we collect

Account data

  • Email address

Kindle delivery settings

  • Your Kindle "Send-to-Kindle" email address (the destination address)

Content you upload

  • The text you paste into the app to send to your Kindle
  • Metadata about that upload (title/filename, timestamps, send status, errors)

Technical data

  • Basic logs needed to run and secure the service (e.g., request timestamps, IP address, user agent). We keep these minimal.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Send your text to your Kindle email address
  • Show delivery history and status (queued/sent/failed)
  • Prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and keep the service secure

We do not use your content to train models, build advertising profiles, or sell it.

How sending works

When you click "Send to Kindle", DropKind sends an email with your content as an attachment to the Kindle email address you provided. This email is sent through our email provider (e.g., Amazon SES) and then processed by Amazon's Send-to-Kindle service.

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers needed to operate DropKind:

  • Email sending provider (e.g., Amazon SES): receives the email content needed to deliver your document.
  • Infrastructure providers (hosting, database, monitoring): store and process app data so the service works.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention

  • Account data is kept until you delete your account.
  • Uploaded content: by default we keep it so you can view your upload history and re-send if needed. You may delete individual uploads, and you may delete your account to remove your data.
  • Logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging, then deleted or anonymized.

Your choices and controls

You can:

  • Update your Kindle email address in Settings
  • Delete your account (which deletes or anonymizes associated data, except where retention is required by law or for security)

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
  • Access controls to restrict data to your account

No system is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk.

Children

DropKind is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us to remove it.

International users

Your data may be processed in countries where our providers operate. We take steps to protect it wherever it is processed.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we'll post the updated policy with a new effective date.
